Florida’s 17th Congressional District
The old district, drawn according to the 2020 Census, contained all of Sarasota and Charlotte counties and part of northern Lee County. The GOP state legislature redrew the lines this year. In the new District 17:
CHARLOTTE: Unchanged, the whole county is still in FL-17.
LEE: Still includes North Fort Myers and most of Fort Myers. It no longer includes most of Lehigh Acres, which is now in district 19.
SARASOTA: The county is split by I-75, with the area west and south of the highway in the new 17 and the area east and north now in district 16.
Major metropolitan areas include Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Englewood, Venice, and parts of North Port and Sarasota.
