Who We Are:
The Fabric of Our District
We are home to a vibrant, highly active senior and retiree population who have worked hard their entire lives and chosen Southwest Florida as their sanctuary.
A Destination for Lifelong Living
A steady influx of new residents and young families are moving here for opportunity, bringing a dynamic and increasingly diverse demographic mix to our schools and neighborhoods.
Growing Hardworking Families
Our local economy runs on the determination of small business owners, healthcare professionals, construction trades, and a world-class hospitality and tourism sector.
A Resilient Economic Engine
What Our Communitues Need:
A champion in Washington DC
Living in Southwest Florida comes with incredible rewards, but it also brings distinct challenges. Our campaign is built on addressing the exact needs of District 17 families:
-
With one of the highest concentrations of retirees in the nation, our priority must be defending the promises made to our seniors. This means fiercely protecting Social Security and Medicare from cuts and working to lower the skyrocketing costs of prescription drugs.
-
Living on the Gulf Coast means facing the reality of severe weather. Our district needs aggressive federal advocacy to secure permanent infrastructure hardening, streamlined beach renourishment, and fast-acting emergency relief.
Crucially, we must address the cost-of-living crisis driven by out-of-control property and homeowners insurance premiums.
-
Our economy and our way of life depend entirely on the health of our environment. Candidates must be fully committed to funding Everglades restoration, protecting local water quality, and deploying advanced federal resources to mitigate red tide and toxic algae blooms that threaten our beaches and local marine businesses.
-
From the gas pump to the grocery checkout, inflation has hit Southwest Florida hard. Our district needs a leader focused on cutting wasteful federal spending, easing burdens on local small businesses, and fostering high-paying, year-round job growth so the next generation can afford to live and work in the communities where they grew up.
